Hello, it’s me. Pip. A freelance copywriter.
This is the home of creative copywriting.
For honest humans with big business dreams.
Where logic shares the table with creativity.
Hustle doesn’t have a front door key.
And the sofa is extra squishy.
Ah, ideas. They come to you faster than moths to a flame.
You’ve worked so hard to translate those ideas into products and services for those dreamy customers of yours.
You tweaked and tweaked, and tweaked again.
Until finally, you felt ready to send your small business out into the world.
Feeling even more nervous than the day you dropped your four-year-old off for their first day at school.
And… then you hit a hurdle. You realised you had to market the darn thing.
Cue another 184 hours sat staring at a blank screen, just waiting for some words (any words), to appear on the page.
And then frantically googling ‘how to write copy’ only to feel that the result just didn’t do your business justice. The business that you’d worked so hard to build.
*Oof*
What if you had the words to market your work that sounded like you, on a really good day?
Let’s create a meaningful digital home for your business.
With a front door that just beckons people inside, and cosy rooms where you can sit down with a virtual cuppa and really get to know your customers.
I stumbled into this online world about a decade ago and I’ve been hanging around ever since
I grew up on the Welsh border, where my childhood was spent lost in stories. I’d traipse around the house with a book in my hand and a daydream in my head.
Then, the real world came calling. And with it, a Bachelors in Economics and a Masters in Human Rights.
Yup, I loved my dissertation so much I handed it in early. And then applied to write another. You could say I have a slightly-geeky passion for deep research, logical frameworks and meaningful change.
Packing my bags and searching for sunshine
After a few too many winters studying in the north of England, it was time to warm up. I moved to Argentina and later lived in Australia before ultimately marrying a South African.
Turned out, those adventures were an introvert’s dream. Cue: endless people watching, observing and learning other cultures, and figuring out what makes people tick.
It ended up being a natural flow into my career in London’s marketing world, with chapters at a tech start-up and a national charity.
There’ve been major rebrands, website redesigns, more marketing campaigns than I can count, numerous blog launches, and so many hours of copywriting that my fingers are getting tired just thinking about it
Finding a new foundation
But my world changed overnight when my mum suddenly passed away.
And after a career working with indie businesses – from the local farm shop to the home interiors store, indie caterers, tech startup, charities and nonprofits – a new path became clear.
It was time to write a new chapter. So, in 2019, I handed in my notice, moved to Melbourne (and back to London again) and started working for myself.
These days you’ll find me typing away from my pink and white office in South East London, where the city melts away into the Kent countryside. Crafting experiences with words, to turn strangers into connections.

This year was a big ‘un. One for the record books, you might say. Here’s what I got up to, as we take a look behind the scenes of my copywriting business.
For The Love Of Small Businesses | This Is Why Small Businesses Are Important
This is why small businesses are important (spoiler alert: it’s about SO much more than someone doing a happy dance).
Let’s try this in 60 seconds
Soundtrack to your workday?
It’s a tough call between country hits, classical and Noisli’s coffee shop sounds. What can I say, I have eclectic taste.
When you’re not working, where can we find you?
Out on a run, with my nose in a good book or planning another adventure. I haven’t quite mastered all three at the same time. Yet.
Go-to drink?
Oat milk latte or a smooth Malbec. Depends on the time of day!
Dream meal?
My first foray into WordPress websites was creating my own food blog back in 2013.
Whilst my food blog didn’t last, my love for good grub has stuck with me for life. This changes on the daily but right now it’s eating authentic southern bbq in the USA. The dream!
Words to live by?
“If in doubt, keep it simple.”
And…
“Control the controllables.”
What’s next on the bucket list?
Our Mexican honeymoon.
Imagine never having to stare at a blank screen again
No more scrounging around trying to find the words that don’t make you want to go cry in a corner but also actually get you the sales you need.
No more panicking at the idea that someone might actually find your website and discover the 1am ‘that’ll do’ DIY job you threw up there the night before you launched.
